Our goal is to understand the mechanisms of disease in MS beyond the initial autoimmune response and develop novel strategies, perhaps in combination with immunotherapies, to enhance CNS regeneration and prevent/interrupt progression of disease before irreversible damage. Towards this goal, we are investigating the effects of the inflammatory milieu on the function of neural stem cells and their ability to repair damage.
